These ruminations might indirectly give an idea for raw parts to have adapted. I had hoped they could accomplish the difficult side of adaptation, the bayonet side. I'm looking at BAY 60 - step up adapters to see if they work with anything other than Hasselblad, and I think I just realized they might only connect to the front of the lens, not the camera body. Looks like only easy adapter method for body connection is macro extension tubes and they are disappointingly costly.Ģx3 Speed Graphic has been suggested as simplest solution for me, but this is completely irrelevant to the original thread here. Camera bodies with shutter and 70-80-ish mm registration are best candidates because an adapter to make up the total of 100 mm would move the rear of the lens further from mirror interference. Mirror clearance is another issue not published to my knowledge. The lens has a 100 mm registration distance, so this eliminates the RB/RZ67 family that have I think 105-112 mm registration the lens would never focus at infinity. So I have been looking at MF camera registration distances and types of adapters. The purpose is to find what these lenses can be used on. I have a related interest, adapting a flange-mount zoom lens made for a long roll 46mm cam (about 6x4.5) to some variety of MF camera (I don't own). This thread has been dormant for some time.

Finally, if a mirror is problem, then what about MF rangefinders (Fuji, M7M). Finding a solution for using legacy 35mm lenses would provide a bridge for artists/non-commercial MF users in certain application. I don't have to remind anyone on this forum of the 5:1 to 10:1 price differential on quality MF lenses vs. It seems that this would have to be done by fabricating the mount since other than the Contax N/645 mount, no commercial product offers this. Has anyone tried mounting 35mm lenses on a MF body (645/66/67) and would be kind enough to share results. The issue is (a) availability of such mounts, (b) quality/sharpness of the projected image on the image plane and hence negative/slide film image sharpness, (c) other defects such as vignetting, distortion or loss of sharpness on the edge of the frame.

It would likely produce an exposure many times that available on the 35mm frame and the 120 film can be cropped when printing or scanning. Mounting 35mm lenses on a MF/645 camera could be enormously valuable even if it does not cover the full frame of the 120 film.
